Tag Brush - Maeve Hydock

Image
Artist Statement: This final piece comes from one of my first pieces titled "Logo" I brought my original black and white logo that I created off of Adobe Illustrator 2024 and exported it into Adobe Photoshop 2024. I then transformed my logo into a paintbrush and used the gear tool to name the brush and save it into my folder. From there I copied it using different colors to create the Tag Brush Graffiti image above.

Video One: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZACwQzj7TQ  This video was very interesting because he made everything seem pretty easy even though I know it may be harder when I start using the tools. However, he was able to explain it in a pretty good way in a short amount of time. To start the first tool that I find easy to use is the Lasso tool. I will use this to cut things out of an image that I do not want there. The patch tool seemed a little more difficult since it replaced something in the image. He made it seem pretty easy to use like I said above, however, I feel like when I actually use it, it will be more difficult.  Video Two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xS5uh5TCXcU  In the video, what I found interesting was how he went through a short tutorial on a lot of the tools. He also explained them in further detail and if they're more advanced or not. The move tool seems pretty easy. It does basically what the name says it does. You can move things...

Artist statement:  For this piece, I wanted to use a propaganda related to my image. Therefore, I did a Kodak Film propoganda because I used to Kodak camera to take the picture of the image that I used below. I used many tools to create my final piece including the pen tool, ellipse tool, pencil tool, and text box tool. To start I created the shape of my face with the ellipse tool and then moved it around to create the frame of my face. I then used the pen tool for the majority of the details besides the lines on my hands. For the details on my hands, I used the pencil tool to get the precise shape for each of my fingers. I then used the fill and stroke to get the specific colors that I needed. For my background, I decided to use a simple font while making the color of the background more vintage-looking to match perfectly with the propaganda. After completing the background everything came together from holding a Kodak camera to being on a Kodak Film propaganda.

LOGO - Maeve Hydock

Artistic statement:  I decided to combine a watermelon and sand dollar into one to create a logo that represents me. I wanted to create a piece that had something to do with the beach since I have been going to the beach every summer since I was born. However, this was a little broad which is why I decided to do the watermelon which is my favorite summer fruit. I then chose the sand dollar to represent the beach since I always collected sand dollars when I was younger. I created my Black and White logo by using the pen tool, ellipse tool, and pencil tool. I used the pencil tool to make/create the shapes inside the sand dollar and used the pencil tool to also help with those lines inside the sand dollar. I then used the ellipse tool to create the shape of the water melon and sand dollar and then got the rigid shape of the sand dollar by using the pen tool. I had three different layers, The first layer was an image of my sketch, the second layer was the outline of the sand doll...
