Calligramme - Maeve Hydock

Image
Above is my Calligramme art piece that I created. I decided to draw a pair of glasses because not only do I wear, and will continue to wear glasses throughout my lifetime but glasses are also a sign of a look into the future. Therefore, glasses are like looking into the future which is exactly what we wrote about. We wrote a letter to our future selves twenty years from now.  My letter:  I hope this letter finds you well and surrounded by the love and happiness that your life has to offer. As I sit here writing this in January of 2024 I can not even begin to wonder where life has brought you and the journey you have been on. I can not wait to hear about the different experiences and challenges you have gone through to bring you to where you are today.  To start, I hope you have continued to be confident and happy through tough situations. I hope you kept a curious mindset of what life has yet to bring you. Even though you will be reading this 20 years from now, new thi...

Maeve Hydock  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GzumUieDPY      Overall this video explained everything pretty well in a short amount of time. I found it easy to change the fill and stroke of the rectangle or whatever shape I would use. Then, how he explained that all we had to do to change the shape and form was to hit V on the keyboard seemed easy. The startle tool seems easy overall, this is because we just have to press buttons on our keyboard to do certain steps. This is definitely something I will have to remember but after I get it down it will be easy. He then talks about the pen tool. This is the tool we used in class during the first game we played when we had to outline the heart and the car. This tool was difficult for me at first but after a bit of practice, I was able to understand it more and use it better. The curvature tool also seems difficult at first, as mentioned in the video, it is similar to the pen tool. Like I said in the video I enjoy...

I/W/W/B - Maeve Hydock

The internet was created in the late 1960s and is known to be one of the most revolutionary creations of all time. This is because we still use the internet today and will continue to use it throughout our entire lifetime. It was not just one single person who created the internet. It was a large group of scientists, different programmers, along with engineers. Each individual had different ideas that they then all put together to create what we call the Internet. Even though it was not created until the 1960s it was talked about long before then.       The internet was created back then for government and military purposes. This was because the internet was launched during the rise of the Cold War. Which is why it was used for government purposes. The government and scientists used the internet at the time to share research with one another. However, it was used on very big computers that were not transportable. Today the internet is used for so...

#1 Blog      Hi! My name is Maeve Hydock, I am from Pennsylvania, and I live right outside Philadelphia. I am a Freshman at The University of Tampa and I am currently majoring in entrepreneurship. I may switch my major to marketing but I do enjoy the business field. A fun fact about me is that I have a dog named Franklin. I enjoy traveling, going on runs, painting, and cooking. I recently went to Costa Rica with a few of my friends and it was the coolest place I have been. I go on runs almost every day on Bayshore when I am at school. I paint a lot on different-sized canvases, and there are a lot of my paintings hanging up in my apartment. I am also always cooking meals for my roommates and me. We make all different kinds of food from seafood to tacos and pasta. I also enjoy listening to music, I listen to all kinds of music, but I enjoy house music the most.      I am definitely excited to take this class. I do not have many feelings about the c...
